About HRc

Our Mission Statement

The Hartland Riding Club is a diverse group of horses and horse lovers residing in Hartland, VT, and other Upper Valley towns. We include horses of all breeds, shapes, and sizes, people of all seat preferences and ages, drivers, ex-riders, and friends of riders, too. Whether you are owned by a horse or not, all horse enthusiasts are welcome.

The HRC was organized in 1969 as a social group of equestrians. The first meeting, and many, many more, took place at “Trail’s End Farm” in the home of charter member and trail master Connie Tessier.

Over the years, the club has organized and enjoyed several types of horse-related activities, such as:

  • Pleasure Trail Rides

  • Overnight Rides

  • Gymkhanas

  • Competitive Trail rides

  • Ride & Ties

  • Parades

  • Horse Shows

  • Clinics

  • Educational Programs

We are an open and friendly group of folks willing to try new ideas and make new friends. We believe in good horsemanship, cooperation, laughter, teamwork and the love of a horse. And we really love to eat!
